The sixth meeting was on Saturday April 13th in Nottingham. The title of the meeting was Aspects of algebraic geometry of great interest to arithmetic algebraic geometry, and the programme was as follows:
Singularities: from p-adic integration to motivic integration
Abstract: An overview of how ideas like p-adic integration and motivic integration can be used to get information about the singularities of a polynomial, and therefore be able to calculate some local zeta functions.
Automorphisms of surfaces in characteristic p
Abstract: This talk is in particular related to p-adic cohomology, ramification theory, and conductor formulas.
Flips of index onep
Abstract: An introduction into the Minimal Model Program Algorithm will be given. The theory of flips and its recent important development by Shokurov will be reviewed.
